“Night and Day” (EP) by The Slang

The Slang is a musical duo John Bobo (vocals/guitar/piano) and John Newsome (bass) out of Washington D.C. Their Summer 2016 release “Night and Day” could easily be the soundtrack for a road-trip type documentary and The Slang has in fact been featured on both HBO and USA Networks programing. John Bobo’s songwriting reminds me of the Replacements’ Paul Westerberg; layered with movement and thought.

“Night and Day” is well mixed, highlighting a multitude of instrumentation, styles and has a nice overall quality to it. There are several sections which feature some beautiful string work along with solid drumming and percussions. If your a fan of fun, thoughtful flows this EP will be right up your alley.  Ultimately, you are the best judge of what you like. Give it a listen and let us know what you think.

Thanks for reading (& listening), see you here next time!
