Hello Dutchies(and the rest of the world),
Do you know good cruise roads in the Netherlands? Post them here!!
I’ll start with a few:
Rijnwaalpad-Arnhem-nijmegen. A long smooth bicycle road between Arnhem and Nijmegen with almost no traffic. Around 15-20km long.
Bicycleroads Veluwe-Veluwe. Instead of the famous snippedaalseweg there are a lot of bicycle roads, they are reasonably smooth. Beautiful scenery of course. It’s a bit hilly but no downhills above 35km/h.
Cattepoelseweg+hommelseweg-Arnhem. Awesome slow downhill, best to go at night with no traffic. Always have some lights to be visible. Few kilometers of downhill around 20km/h so you don’t have to push, just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Den bosch-Den bosch. In and around Den Bosch(except the city-centre) there are a lot of smooth two-lane bicycle roads to get around. Especially in the north-west you have some new recidency’s that look like castles.
Country roads-Brummen/Zutphen/Doetinchem. Around these cities are a lot country roads without a lot of traffic. Beautiful scenery mix of forrests and farminglands. Super relaxing on a summerday.
Arnhem-Elten(germany)- Arnhem. A very long smooth bicycleroad al the way to germany. you pass Westenvoort, Duiven and Zevenaar. Get some cheap beers from germany and enjoy the rest of the day.
Nijmegen-kranenburg(germany)- Nijmegen. From nijmegen to Germany! Again we’re going to germany, with farminglands in Germany and a hillside one side and the Ooijpolder on the otherside in The Netherlands this is a beatifull road to Kranenburg. Around 15km oneway. It’s a smooth bicycleroad but in germany there are some rough patches.
Do you know more nice roads? Post them here!!!
